STUNTS CANADA MEMBER MELISSA STUBBS HONOURED WITH THE JOHN JULIANI AWARD OF EXCELLENCE FROM UBCP

For almost 25 years Melissa has risked life and limb for her craft, and has become, arguably, the most
successful stunt woman in this country. Her incredible accomplishments include being nominated three
times for the Taurus World Stunt Awards and winning the “Best Stunt by a Woman”. In 2008 Melissa
was invited to join the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, making her the only woman in
her field ever to be invited to become a member of this prestigious association of film makers and Academy
Award winners. Melissa’s work has raised the profile of all stunt performers in Canada and her accomplishments
help shine the spotlight on the exceptional talent in the stunt community in British
Columbia.

The award will be presented to Melissa at the 1st annual UBCP/ACTRA Awards on November 24, 2012 at the CBC Studios in Vancouver.

Melissa is the second Stunts Canada member to be recognised with this award. Jacob Rupp received it in 2008.
